Job Description

Midwestern Pet Foods is looking to hire a Corporate Engineering located at either our Monmouth, IL location or our Evansville, IN location.

Job Description:

  • Provide technical and professional leadership in the areas of project management, engineering, and maintenance for all Midwestern Pet Foods’ facilities.
  • Aid in the development, planning, and implementation of capital projects and facility improvements.
  • Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses and estimated production costs or savings.
  • Manage the introduction of new projects into all Company facilities.
  • Propose and control the cost of each project in accordance with the budget provided.
  • For projects that are not delivering the desired results, significantly refocus effects to deliver the desired results.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects and expectations of projects, including contractors/equipment manufacturers/internal support.

  • Incorporate personnel safety, food safety and regulatory requirements into all projects.
  • Perform post-installation audits, reconcile financial metrics, and share key learning for future project improvement.
  • On an ongoing basis, initiate design changes and modifications to further improve machine efficiency, cost reductions and to expand the capability of existing equipment to perform efficiently.
  • Assure that management and employees are trained on all new equipment and updated procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years engineering experience or a 4-year college degree.
  • Experience with CAD and the ability to use other engineering tools and software.
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple project assignments.
