Job Overview
The Controls Technician will repair and perform maintenance on all electrical and control equipment in the production facility. This role will serve as an on-site subject matter expert for electrical and control equipment matters; troubleshoot and assist with design improvements and process changes to improve the functionality of electrical and control equipment, and programing electrical and electronic equipment and PLCs.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, control, and electronic issues
- Lead the calibration of control equipment instrumentation, while working within corporate guidelines
- Assist with design improvements; process changes to improve the functionality of electrical and control equipment; maintain responsibility for programming PLCs
- Identify opportunities for optimization and implement continuous improvement measures to improve production line and conveyor efficiencies, productivity, and overall performance
- Assist mechanics with the repair of equipment issues
- Train maintenance personnel in the proper use and maintenance of electrical instrumentation and control equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- PLC programming knowledge
- Position requires programming knowledge of PLCs with experience on Allen Bradley systems
- Qualified applicants will possess knowledge of instrumentation, will be expected to successfully troubleshoot and calibrate instruments such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, and temperature transmitters
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
- Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience
