Position Summary:
As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patient functions and implement effective treatments to enhance or restore their abilities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide education and clinical training to students.
Education/Certification:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a B.S. degree.
- Current Connecticut Physical Therapy license required.
Competencies:
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Windows-based programs needed for department tasks.
- Basic keyboarding skills; familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between multiple work sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating patients according to departmental standards.
- Modifying evaluations based on individual patient symptoms and medical status.
- Implementing personalized therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Educating patients and families on home exercise programs.
- Determining discharge readiness when treatment goals are met.
- Documenting patient care in line with insurance guidelines.
- Fostering interdepartmental communication for optimal patient care.
- Supervising at least one affiliated student annually.
- Continuing education to enhance treatment techniques.
- Participating in departmental and community training sessions.
