Product Engineer Technician


Successful candidate will join CAIRE’s Product Engineering team at the global headquarters in Georgia. This individual will work on CAIRE’s oxygen therapy medical devices, with a focus on manufacturing and sustaining projects. This technician will be mentored by a senior product engineer and will be responsible for individual project tasks supporting the Product Engineers.

This on-site position is a hands-on engineering position with time spent in the office and laboratory. This position will be based out of the Canton/Ball Ground location of CAIRE, which is approximately 30 minutes north of the greater Atlanta, GA area. THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE.


Required Experience:

Pursuing a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.

Working knowledge of CAD software. SolidWorks experience is preferred.

Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, and Office Suite programs.

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work both independently and in team settings.

Sound understanding of fundamentals within mechanical design, statics, dynamics, pressure vessels and thermal dynamics.

  • Good communication and organizational skills.


Preferred Experience :

Previous work or internship experience

Medical Device background a plus

Understanding of production metrics and Six Sigma.

Some working knowledge of statistical tools – Minitab.

Understanding of Medical Device design control processes and associated ISO standards compliance (60601, 13485, etc.) preferred

Awareness and understanding of Company quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP, ISO 9001 knowledge and experience preferred.


Job Functions :

  • Perform testing and development tasks for electro-mechanical medical devices with the cross functional design team.
  • Troubleshoot and determine corrective measures for prototype designs and quality defects.
  • Design and fabricate prototypes, tooling fixtures, and test benches as required.
  • Develop and perform test protocols to evaluate design changes, product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Interface with various departments in coordinating technical information relating to specific projects or regarding quality issues.
  • Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require:

Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.

This position will require the ability to move around the office, manufacturing, and engineering lab.

Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8 hrs/day.

May need to lift up to 40 lbs.
