Overview

  1. The Senior QA Performance Test Engineer ensures the overall performance quality of systems and technology released into Enterprise production environment. This includes performance testing strategy, automated script development, test execution, result analysis, and metric reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Test Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop testing strategies, test scripts, and conditions for performance test coverage.
  • Execute performance, load, spike, stress, and stability testing.
  • Identify test data requirements and coordinate with relevant teams.
  • Utilize data analytics to define client usage characteristics and user flows.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Report testing outcomes and performance metrics (response times, error rates, CPU/memory utilization, etc.).
  • Document observations, issues, and identified defects.
  • Assist development teams with issue resolution.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead QA projects and teams, ensuring test coverage across systems.
  • Coach and mentor Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Coordinate with third-party QA teams and direct offshore testing programs.
  • Deliver training on QA tools, processes, and best practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Conduct quality and testing audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for QA programs.
  • Recommend testing cost reduction strategies and alternative staffing models.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years as a QA Performance Engineer.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Performance Testing Tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, LoadComplete.
  • Monitoring Tools: Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, JProfiler.
  • Data Analytics Tools: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics.
  • Automated Testing Tools: Selenium, Microfocus UFT.
  • Database Knowledge: SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Mobile Testing Tools: Appium, BrowserStack.
  • Experience in Agile environments (SAFe preferred) and CI/CD methodologies.
  • SAFe Agile certification.

Specialized Skills and Technologies

  • API Testing and Multi-System Integration.
  • Experience with Hybris eCommerce, Adobe, Web/iOS application testing.
  • Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner.
  • Test Management Tools: Microfocus ALM, Microsoft TFS, Version One.

Physical Demands

  • Extensive computer use, including typing and data entry.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, or pushing up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to perform activities like walking, bending, standing, and stooping occasionally.
