Job Description:
We are seeking a newly barred attorney or an attorney with limited workers' compensation experience who is eager to learn and grow within this specialized field. Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in workers' compensation cases, including hearings, depositions, and mediations.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Manage a caseload under the guidance and mentorship of experienced attorneys.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality representation and positive outcomes for clients.
- Stay up to date with changes in workers' compensation law and related areas.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the (State) Bar (newly barred attorneys are encouraged to apply).
- Strong commitment to social justice and advocacy for underserved populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Prior experience in a non-profit or legal aid setting is a plus but not required.
