Sales Engineer – Hybrid / Whippany, NJ

A-established, fast-growing HVAC services company in Whippany, NJ is looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient Sales Engineer to maintain strong customer relationships, drive sales and estimate and manage projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in diagnosing and solving complex HVAC issues, stay up to date with the latest industry trends and cutting-edge HVAC technologies, and be dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with current and prospective customers to gain an understanding of their unique requirements and challenges for tailored solutions
  • Estimate, develop, and present quotations and thorough proposals, including repairs, testing, inspections, installations, and preventive maintenance plans
  • Identifying and pursuing sales opportunities within our target HVAC market
  • Nurture existing accounts to develop additional business
  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets through effective lead generation and relationship-building
  • Manage and coordinate the customer relationship, ensuring follow-up with the appropriate department, i.e. sales, service, or operations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers to ensure consistent satisfaction.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. Other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-7+ years related experience in commercial or industrial HVAC services
  • Proven experience in HVAC sales, technical support, or a related role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and diagnostics.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary functions (engineering, sales, operations)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Highly self-driven with a strong sales orientation and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • 75% travel/on the road, 25% onsite in Whippany, NJ
