Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) - Commodities Trading - up to 150k CAD + Bonus & package - Toronto
Cititec Talent has partnered with a leading global commodities firm seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer, with an AWS focus, who can leverage their expertise to build and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for commodities trading platforms.
- Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, and deployment of cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD workflows to accelerate software delivery while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with trading teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of trading applications into the production environment.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues and apply corrective measures to maintain efficient operations.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in AWS technologies and best practices relevant to the commodities trading sector.
- Contribute to refining internal DevOps standards and ensure consistency in operational practices.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience ideally in a trading environment or financial services firm
- Experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with serverless computing platforms like AWS Lambda.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Knowledge of commodities trading systems and relevant data integration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification
- Proven experience in architecting and managing AWS infrastructure, ideally within financial services or commodities trading
- Strong proficiency in Python programming
- Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure management
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Understanding of networking, security protocols, and compliance standards specific to the financial services industry.
