Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering duties and assignments that include product development, product support, and sales support.
- Analyze and interpret engineering data submitted for new products and for modifications affecting standard products. Modify designs using standard engineering practice to effect improvements and meet customer requirements.
- Instruct design and drafting personnel in the preparation of drawings, calculations, and specifications. Ensure accuracy of designs, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, etc.
- Work with manufacturing to methodize production operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or sub-contracting, labor, and material cost estimates, etc.
- Confer with the Sales Department to assist in answering product related technical questions.
- Oversee the construction, assembly and testing of newly developed products. Devise test set-ups and analyze test data.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Strong mechanical inclination and a desire to pursue hands-on design engineering.
- The drive to continuously learn about new developments in engineering and it's impact on customer applications.
- At least four years experience in a position designing precision machined components.
