Senior Process Safety Engineer/ PSM Programme Manager

They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer with expertise in program management to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful safety initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee process safety management (PSM) programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, COMAH).
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessment activities, including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If analyses.
- Manage and coordinate process safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
- Provide technical leadership in the development and maintenance of safety systems, such as relief device sizing, chemical reaction hazard assessments, and dispersion modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate process safety principles into engineering designs and operational practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance process safety awareness and competency across the organization.
- Lead program management initiatives to drive continuous improvement in process safety culture and performance.
- Monitor emerging industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address potential impacts on safety programs.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
- Proven expertise in program management, with the ability to lead large-scale safety initiatives from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with process safety tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional certifications such as PE, CSP, or CCPS certifications are highly desirable.
