DescriptionnnJoin Our MissionnnAs a RN Medical Coordinator, you will be responsible for arranging or partnering with other health professionals regarding health and safety standards for out-of-home youth care, youth care licensing requirements, disease reporting requirements for care providers, immunizations for youth, injury prevention for youth, medication management and knowledge of community health and mental health resources for youth.nnJob ResponsibilitiesnnServes as the primary point of contact to schedule medical appointments and follows ups as needednnMeeting all requirements of ORR policies and OCFS regulations with regard to medical care.nnAssists with developing relationships with new providers as needed.nnPartners with ORR to assure providers are set up to accept specialized payment for this population.nnEstablishing treatment goals, utilizing historical & current available information in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Refer children for needed services and assist in provider selection.nnCoordinate with health care providers, including requesting and receiving documentation in appropriate time frames and uploading that to the UAC portal.nnEstablishing treatment goals, utilizing historical & current available information in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.nnProvision of supervision to LPNs and ensures adequate nursing staff coverage hours.nnMedication administration and management including reconciliation.nnMaintaining medical supplies and equipment.nnDeveloping and maintaining procedures related to medical for the programs on campus.nnAdheres to agency policies and procedures; promotes and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.nnComplies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those of ORR, ICE and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.nnJob RequirementsnnMinimum High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.nnNew York State Registered Nurse License, requirednn1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting.nnFluent in English/Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skillsnnVaricella Vaccine required OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.nnMMR (Measles Mumps & Rubella vaccine required OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.nnTdap (Tetanus-diptheria-pertussis) vaccine required.nnInfluenza vaccine required, one dose annually during flu season.nnPhysical (Medical Exam) required.nnMust be able to work 9AM-5PM during new hire orientation to complete TCI(Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), CPR and Sanctuary training. Must maintain TCI and CPR certification.nnRequired to be 21 years or older.nnMust have a current and valid driver's license with acceptable driving history to the Agency.nnAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as necessary.
