The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) is the premier professional association of leaders and managers who support the business operations of law firms and legal organizations. ALA members come together to share ideas and experiences and develop solutions for the challenges of today’s modern legal organizations. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team in the Governance and Education department as a In-Person Events Education Coordinator.


The creative, enthusiastic, and skilled professional will work closely with ALA staff, member volunteers and subject matter experts to deliver content for ALA’s in-person and virtual events and evaluate the effectiveness of ALA’s educational programs to ensure they meet the needs of the attendees and align with the association’s mission.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Governance and Education, you will support and execute high-quality, innovative learning experiences in various learning environments for current and prospective ALA members that support their professional development at various stages of their careers. Anchored by ALA’s Certified Legal Manager (CLM)® designation, this position will ensure that all educational programs provide pathways for legal administrators to grow as professionals.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Educational Programming and Speaker/Thought Leader Management:

  • Collaborate with planning project teams to identify speakers/thought leaders that align with the purpose and objectives of the event(s).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all speakers/thought leaders before, during, and after events.
  • Assist in developing and managing the speaker/thought leaders database, the speaker/thought leader agreement process, and event evaluations.
  • Prepare and guide speaker/thought leaders, ensuring alignment with ALA’s guidelines.
  • Volunteer Support:
  • Serve as a staff liaison to event volunteer project teams, helping them identify speakers/content leaders, develop, and finalize the event program.
  • Participate in?and facilitate team meetings and conference calls; respond to inquiries.
  • Administration & Data: Support event preparation and monitoring; quarterly and year-end data reports analyzing ALA’s educational offerings.
  • Education Strategy: Contribute to developing and implementing ALA’s education strategy.

The Virtual Events & Certification Coordinator will also work to support the development and promotion of the CLM® program, increasing its visibility and awareness?and the number of those who earn the CLM designation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • 3+ years of post-graduate professional experience; association management experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, data analysis, time management, and problem-solving skills—must be able to think on your feet and outside the box.
  • Strategic thinker and able to handle multiple tasks with firm deadlines
  • Speaker management, event planning and evaluation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
