We are working with a company in Charlotte on their search for a Litigation Attorney. This position is dedicated exclusively to management of various dispute resolution/litigation matters and provides a wide range of legal support to the company’s various dispute resolution matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation. The attorney will work closely with the company's internal clients such as business units and external partners in prosecuting/defending each matter. Key functions include oversight and management of law firms and other external counsel; review and production of pleadings; discovery management; maintain data and information necessary for internal reporting; status updates to management; develop strategies and tactics to optimize litigation management; identify and manage trends and emerging risks; early intervention in special matters.
Essential Functions
- Provide a wide variety of dispute resolution management services.
- Coordinate and manage all litigation/arbitration matters.
- Oversee and manage external legal counsel.
- Review, revise, and prepare pleadings; coordinate discovery, and attend hearings and events.
- Collaborate closely with internal clients and external company partners.
- Track, gather, analyze and report aggregated data and information on litigation.
- Develop and implement strategies for litigation optimization.
- Identify and mitigate emerging risks.
- Maintain appropriate files and perform legal research.
- Interact with various company departments and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality; precision in drafting, and excellent communication skills.
- Complete discretion, confidentiality, ethics, and fair/proper behavior.
- Basic litigation work as assigned.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree and at least one active state bar admission, preferably Texas or North Carolina.
- Mandatory experience includes 4+ years of substantive / direct litigation and arbitration experience including federal and state courts at law firm(s).
- Insurance experience is not mandatory but highly valued.
This position will be based in Charlotte and will require 3+ days in the office/week.
