Job Description

This role provides an opportunity to lead engineering efforts on projects that involve designing, modifying, and analyzing electrical systems, spanning from plant retrofits to new generation facilities.


Responsibilities include...

  • Creating power distribution designs, drafting equipment specifications, and overseeing installation needs.
  • Assisting project managers to ensure timely, budget-friendly completion while maintaining compliance with codes and client expectations.
  • Preparing design drawings, conducting calculations (e.g., voltage drop, arc flash), coordinating with vendors, and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Travel is required for reviews and fieldwork. Hybrid schedule: three in-office days per week.



Lead Electrical Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program; power systems emphasis preferred.
  • PE license preferred or required to obtain.
  • 10+ years of experience in power or industrial plant design, focusing on integrated system design for new or existing facilities.
  • Proficient in selecting equipment, materials, control philosophies, and preparing calculations/specifications.
  • Expertise in medium/low voltage electrical systems (e.g., transformers, motors) and communication systems.
  • Skilled in ETAP or SKM for analytical calculations.
  • Knowledgeable in power distribution equipment and experienced in client liaison roles.
  • Based in Tampa, FL, with occasional travel.


Valued Skills (Optional):

  • Instrumentation and controls engineering, project management, and construction/start-up experience.
