Position Overview:
As a Trust & Estate Legal Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to attorneys while delivering exceptional client service. This position is ideal for professionals with at least 5 years of experience , looking to grow within a firm renowned for its high standards and expertise.
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing administrative support to attorneys in the Trusts and Estates practice group.
- Preparing and processing legal documents related to trusts and estates, including wills, trust agreements, and powers of attorney.
- Managing and organizing client files, both electronic and paper, to ensure all documents are easily accessible and up to date.
- Assisting with the administration of estates, including preparing probate documents and managing court filings.
- Coordinating and scheduling client meetings, appointments, and court appearances.
- Drafting and proofreading correspondence, legal documents, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicating effectively with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other professionals involved in trust and estate matters.
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks related to trust and estate administration.
- Maintaining billing records and assisting with client billing processes.
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence.
- Answering, screening, directing, and placing telephone calls and emails.
What You Need for this Position
- At least 3 years of experience as a legal administrative assistant in trusts and estates law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with legal research tools and document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of probate and trust administration procedures.
- Strong client service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Physical attendance at the place of work.
