Focus Talent Solutions is recruiting a Weld Engineer for a client in the Saginaw County area. This would be a direct-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for engineering to support program launch readiness, production planning, and continuous improvement. Provide the necessary weld engineering knowledge, processing skills, and technical support to the company to ensure optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery to internal and external customer satisfaction. Develop a training program for welding personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Development, review, maintenance, and control of welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment. Including WPS’s, PQR’S and all testing requirements.

• Interpret drawings, weld codes, and standards to develop procedures/qualification plans

• Develop weld maps, weld procedures, qualification records, work instructions, and welding visual aids

•

• Coordinate and/or perform destructive and non-destructive weld testing

• Develop qualification tests for welding personnel

• Oversee weld process to maintain quality

• Identification of weld fixture requirements. Assistance in tool conceptualization.

• Work with Quality and Production departments to ensure validation checks are built into the process.

• Support lessons learned activities and implementation into quotes and standards.

• Support manufacturing with process and document interpretation.

• Champion weld audits • Interact with customer counterparts (SME’s, CWE’s, QAR’s, etc.)

• Research and development for Welding Department improvements

• Programming and troubleshooting of CNC robotic welding equipment

• Work environment is both office and manufacturing floor-based
