Monday-Friday - 0630-1500 with call rotation.
Coordinates nursing care of the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Complies with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards.
Education and Formal Training: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. Current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license with biannual renewal. Will have current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date. ACLS certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
Work Experience: Previous OR experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Through knowledge of principles of asepsis. Also must have thorough knowledge of patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques, and the operation and maintenance of all unit-specific equipment. Must demonstrate an ability to respond to changing workloads and to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations when time is critical. Must demonstrate an even temperament, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude. Further, must have the ability to work effectively with others; maintain knowledge of current trends; insure that all contracts with patients, the public, physicians, and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, and considerate manner.
