Job Title : Lead Host/Hostess

Job Summary The Lead Host/Hostess serves as the face of the restaurant, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure. This role requires expertise in managing reservations, coordinating VIP and soirée service, and delivering hospitality that creates magical moments. The Lead Host/Hostess will oversee the host team, assist with events, and ensure seamless communication between guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities - Greet and welcome guests warmly, creating a memorable first impression.
- Expertly manage reservations using OpenTable and other reservation platforms, optimizing table turns while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Provide personalized service for VIP guests and coordinate special requests or accommodations.
- Lead the host team in delivering professional and attentive service, ensuring smooth operations during soirée service and high-volume periods.
- Proactively identify opportunities to "make magic happen" by exceeding guest expectations with thoughtful gestures and personalized service.
- Assist with event coordination, including seating arrangements and guest communication for private and special occasions.
- Maintain a polished and organized front-of-house area, including the host stand and waiting areas.
- Monitor and communicate accurate wait times to guests, updating them as necessary.
- Resolve guest inquiries and seating issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure readiness and efficient table transitions.
- Train and mentor host staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Track and report daily reservation data, including VIP preferences, walk-ins, and no-shows, to management.
Qualifications - Proven experience as a host/hostess in fine dining or upscale casual environments, with leadership experience preferred.
- Expertise in OpenTable and familiarity with other reservation systems.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A hospitality-business mindset , with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly and professionally.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience in event coordination or private dining is a plus.
