Job Title: Assistant General Manager (AGM)
Location: Hip Hotel, Bryant Park, NYC
Compensation: $85,000–$95,000 annual salary + competitive benefits package
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join the team at our vibrant hotel located near Bryant Park. This role involves overseeing the operations of our F&B rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar , which provide a chic nightlife destination, closing nightly at 1 AM. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-energy environment, possesses excellent leadership skills, and has a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
- Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Step in to manage the operation as needed, including covering closing shifts.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate FOH staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with department managers to ensure staff are adequately trained and prepared for high-volume shifts.
- Handle scheduling, hiring, and performance evaluations in collaboration with the General Manager.
- Guest Experience:
- Monitor guest feedback, addressing concerns promptly and implementing improvements.
- Actively engage with guests to build relationships and elevate their experience.
- Financial Oversight:
- Support budget management, cost controls, and achievement of revenue targets.
- Analyze sales and operational metrics, identifying areas for efficiency and growth.
- Event Coordination:
- Collaborate on private events and nightlife programming, ensuring seamless execution.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 3+ years in a management role within a high-volume F&B, nightlife, or boutique hotel setting.
- Proven ability to manage late-night operations and a strong understanding of nightlife dynamics.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, mixology, and hospitality trends.
- Ability to multitask, adapt, and remain calm under pressure.
- Availability:
- Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, with two consecutive days off.
- Flexibility to work nights, including some closing shifts, and to adjust hours as needed to support the operation.
