IMC is currently looking to hire a full time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) . Under the immediate supervision of thePhysician/Office Supervisor and direction of physician the LPN will provide health care services in an outpatientclinic setting; while effectively interacting with patients and maintaining a goodworking relationship with coworkers and all hospital employees with opencommunication.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of state approvedLPN/LVN School of Nursing
- Currently licensed as a LPN in the state of Louisiana
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: - 2 years Experiencein a physician office, preferred neurology or similar training
- EHR knowledge
- Ability to triagepatients and administer injections under supervision of physician
- Knowledge ofpatient care, medical terminology and office skills
- Ability tooperate simple office machinery, copier, fax, computer
PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Screening patient phone calls and prioritizingfor further action by MD
- Documenting appropriately in patient chart all interactions with patient in a timely and professional manner
- Knowledge of medications including specific dosing, correctly ordering, refilling and attaining insurance approval of prescriptions (*under the direction of physician)
- Must also demonstrate flexibility in response to unexpected changes in work volume, staffing and schedule
- Scheduling patient appointments and hospital procedures
- Triage and rooming ofpatients
- Administering cognitive testing
- Assists in patient/family education
- Preparing injections
