For more than 25 years, we’ve provided comprehensive high-risk pregnancy services and delivered over 26,000 high-risk babies at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. We offer a range of care services for higher-risk pregnancies, including mothers over age 35, multiples, complications, birth defects, issues such as diabetes or hypertension, or pregnancies after infertility.nnPosition Summary:nnProvide perinatal care to patients under the supervision of a physician preceptor, following established medical protocols.nnRecruiter: Sarah Grey || || 865-374-5271nnResponsibilitiesnnMaintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.nnProvides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.nnCollaborates with physician preceptor to formulate and review medical protocols.nnObtains complete medical history of the patient.nnIdentifies health hazards in the patient's environment as well as patient risk factors. Identifies and considers the cultural patterns, economic status and patient resources in plan of care.nnPerforms appropriate physical exam as indicated.nnObtains appropriate laboratory specimens.nnAnalyzes objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.nnAssures treatment and/or plan of care is consistent with established protocols.nnMonitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records and maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Documents all pertinent information accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.nnRefers patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the practitioner.nnProvide health promotion counseling and develop patient teaching information.nnServes as a resource person for other staff personnel.
