A surgical tech or SPD role at CommonSpirit Health is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you.nnAs a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech with CommonSpirit Health you will:nnWorks under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.nnAssist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.nnAssist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.nnDay to Day duties:nnScrub on all cases.nnPrimarily, Mainly Ortho, Total joint replacements (Hips, Shoulder, Knees Ankles etc.), Ortho Spine and Sports Medicine.nnGiving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.nnAssisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.nnMaintaining sterile field during procedures.nnHanding instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.nnMaintaining and updating preference cards.nnOR Suites-8 OR Suites, 11 Pre-Op Beds, 10 PACU Bays, 48 Inpatient BedsnnApprox.200-250+ cases per monthnnSchedule: PRN- Must be available for a min of 5 shifts per 6 week schedulennSchedule is made every 6 weeks by the managernnNo surgeries on holidays or weekends.Like a Surgery center. No weekends no nights. No Call!!nnNo Call!! ‘Late Stay’ is required and scheduled in advance -Sign up for first second or 3rd room late stay. Min 10 late stays in 6 weeks.nnQualifications:nnIn addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:nnBasic Computer skills required.nnOne year of OR experience required.nnPrevious OR experience with Ortho/ Sports Medicine cases highly preferrednnExperience in a specialty field preferred.nnHS Diploma/GED requirednnCompletion of an approved Surgical Technician program requirednnBLS from the American Heart Association requirednnCurrent registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech requirednnCertification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) requirednnPhysical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)nnYour Connected Community:nnWhen people and places align, incredible things happen. Our patient mix is spine, orthopedic including total hips, knees, shoulders and ankles, sports med, foot and ankle, hand and wrist. OrthoColorado Hospital provides advanced orthopedic and spine care with an unsurpassed level of service to help patients achieve the best quality of life. Our team of physicians and nurses work collaboratively to support the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities. OrthoColorado has a great culture, and our caregivers enjoy the small size hospital feel. We only do elective cases which means we just operate Monday through Friday, are closed on weekends and major holidays, and do not have on call. We look for team members that have enthusiasm, punctuality, a positive attitude, and are team players.nn“The right candidate for us will be motivated, Hardworking, and passionate about the OR. We’re a tight knot team with only 1 RN and 1 Tech per room so team players are a must. We’re a fast paced department with 15 min room turnovers so everyone is expected to jump in and help. It’s “All Hands-on Deck” with Ortho CO. We’re Part physician owned, amazing relationship with surgeons. Teamwork is rated high with this team. Surgeons help in rooms. Great collaboration.
