POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Supports the SIHF School Based Health Centers by serving as bus operations specialist while overseeing the daily operations. Coordinates safe transport and efficient use of the mobile unit to and from community sites. Maintains excellent vehicle preventive maintenance by ensuring the completion of daily checks and maintenance logs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receive and carry out scheduled transportation assignments for transit of SIHF Mobile Unit.
2.Obey traffic laws and regulations governing vehicle operation, and drive in a safe and cautious manner always.
3.Inspect vehicle daily and complete the daily vehicle pre/post inspection report.
4.Submit to the Fleet Coordinator a written report of all vehicle problems.
5.Ensure that all passengers are properly secured during transportation.
6.Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicle.
7.Perform routine driver maintenance including observation and reporting of vehicle defects.
8.Receive close supervision related to specific work activities, assignments, methods, etc; Receive frequent surveillance over job activities; Instructions are detailed, and assignments are typically short-term.
9.Retrieve, disseminate, and file patient records and reports to ensure availability of patient medical information in compliance with quality performance standards.
10.Perform the record completion process, as applicable, to ensure collection of patient health information.
11.Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  3. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
  4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  5. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  6. Basic personal computer skills.
  7. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  8. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
  9. Maintain order within the vehicle through enforcement of passenger rules.
  10. Complete and submit accident reports when necessary.
  11. Complete and submit required reports.
  12. Keep vehicle interiors clean.
  13. Wear identification always.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
  2. One year of experience in driving appropriate size vehicle.
  3. Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of motor vehicles.
  4. Possession of valid state driver's license and Class C license (non-CDL) is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Mostly sedentary work with light, physical activities. Must be able to lift/carry up to ten (10) pounds.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The PRN position operates on an as-needed basis. Shifts will be scheduled based on organizational needs. Hours per week may vary depending on workload and staffing requirements unless otherwise specified by management staff.
