QUALIFICATIONS Required : Experience in Adult, Geriatric, and Critical Care; and Computer skills. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience in Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent Care; Demonstrates knowledge and competency in delivery ofpatient care while assigned a full load of patient procedures; Is flexible with schedule changes or changing job assignments to meet patient care needs; Exhibits a willingness to learn new procedures and be open to new methods for delivery of care in a team environment; Demonstrates professionalism by appearance, actions, self-development, interdepartmental and guest relations; Uses interpersonal skills which convey a positive and supportive attitude, and Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Lic/Reg/Cert : Current Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Continually walking, standing. Frequently lift 50 pounds or more, pulling, stooping, and reaching. Occasionally sitting while charting; pushing, twisting, and kneeling during patient care. Potential exposure to hospital borne infection. Frequently operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment. Must be physically able to stoop, bend, reach and frequently lift 50 pounds or more. Continuous walking and/or standing throughout shift required. Must maintain knowledge of and practice safe body mechanics according to Sky Lakes Medical Center policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Demonstrates ability to complete an assessment for Respiratory Therapist Driven Protocol that includes: Subjective Data, Objective Data, Assessment Data, and Plan of care.
- Demonstrates ability to perform assessment for Respiratory Therapist Driven Protocol in a frequency as directed by the TDP policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates ability in writing physician orders that include date and time, how order was received and signature.
- Demonstrates ability to complete monthly intubation competency.
- Demonstrates ability to complete cardiopulmonary competency booklet.
- Responds to the appropriate area when codes for cardiopulmonary resuscitation is announced.
- Provides staff development courses for other health care professionals.
- Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization.
- Provide patient teaching plan, care and performs tasks using job skills and growth and develop knowledge specific to the patient's age and/or developmental level.
- While performing job tasks, demonstrates awareness of cultural and spiritual practices of the customer(s).
- Assesses physical needs and functional status of the patient in order to provide patient care.
- Maintains neat, organized and safe environment for patients and staff.
