POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the continuous flow of materials and goods to support production operations. By ensuring raw materials and inventory levels are efficiently managed, this position prevents disruptions in the production process. Responsibilities span procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationship management to align with the company's goals and budgetary constraints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement
- Place purchase orders based on production demand and material requirements.
- Conduct research to source materials, equipment, and services that offer the best value, quality, and delivery options.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to secure cost-effective agreements.
- Monitor purchase orders, expedite deliveries, and communicate delivery schedules to internal customers.
- Ensure procurement aligns with budgetary limits and propose alternative options for cost overruns.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying potential new partners.
- Manage returns and resolve issues such as overages, shortages, and damages with suppliers.
Inventory Control
- Oversee receipt, inspection, and proper storage of materials; ensure materials meet order specifications and quality standards.
- Enter and track inventory using ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure materials are appropriately labeled and organized in warehouse locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in stockroom areas.
Additional Responsibilities
- Act as backup for shipment coordination.
- Support cross-functional teams (e.g. production, project management, estimating, and shipping).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement and inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
- Must be a team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Ready to work hard and play hard, demonstrating a commitment to both excellence and workplace camaraderie.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and handle challenges from multiple perspectives.
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to teamwork.
- Have a valid license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certified desirable.

The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and move it for at least 50 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
