Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Vice President of Engineering to lead our in-house engineering team, manage outside consultants, and work closely with our clients’ technical staff. This pivotal role requires a brilliant engineer with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in electronic design, particularly in wearable technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee engineering projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget, achieving a success rate of 95%.

Collaborate closely with the business development team to establish and maintain successful client relationships.

Identify risks and accurately estimate project budgets and schedules.

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

Coordinate with external stakeholders, including engineering leaders, VPs, and CEOs, to align project goals.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE preferred; PhD considered).

Proven experience in engineering management, preferably within design firms, electronics, manufacturing, or medical device sectors.

Strong technical expertise in hardware and firmware, including embedded systems, electrical systems, and programming (Python, Java, etc.).

Familiarity with design services and the manufacturing process for electronic devices.

Desired Skills:

Ability to juggle competing demands while finding and managing capable engineers.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to project delivery.

Experience in product development, specifically in sensor technology or IoT devices.

Additional Information:

The VP of Engineering will report directly to the CEO and play a crucial role in our company’s growth and success.

Travel to our Silicon Valley lab and client sites will be required.
