Position: Mobile Engineer

Duration: 3 month contract-to-hire

Location: Duluth, MN

Schedule: Onsite 5 days a week

Pay: $30-35/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

A client of Insight Global’s is hiring a Mobile Engineer to work in the Duluth, MN area (in addition to supporting a 2-hour radius from this base location), to support a variety of clients in the maintenance, operation and repairs of refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, production equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain the most efficient operating results and longevity. In this role, the Mobile Engineer will be assuring that equipment is being maintained and down time is condensed to a minimum, when necessary, repairs are made while keeping records up to date of past operating experiences. Additional responsibilities include:

• Responding to work orders for all systems and updating them in real time
• Maintaining and operating all refrigeration, HVAC systems and equipment associated with electrical distribution, plumbing, building interior/exterior and production equipment
• Performing facility inspections
• Completing Hazard Assessments
• Maintaining compliance to state, county or city ordinances, codes, or laws
• Completing all required safety trainings on schedule

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 4 years’ technical background in building engineering (focusing on HVAC)
• Ability to diagnose and repair walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerators
• Basic experience with plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair & maintenance
• Universal EPA 608 Certification OR Type II EPA Certification (and willing to obtain Universal before start date)
• Valid Driver’s License

PLUSSES:

• Universal EPA Certification
• 2 years’ trade school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Working from heights
• Climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, etc.
• Driving long periods of time
• Climbing ladder with a 300lb weight limit – carrying a tool bag weighing approx. 20 lbs.
• Climbing ladder up to 30 feet
• Must be available for call-in work & perform other duties as required
