Day to Day:
An Insight Global customer is hiring immediately for two Lead Systems Engineers. These individuals will work closely with marketing and customers to define requirements for HVAC systems. They will execute the role of a systems engineer in the product development processes and work closely with hardware, firmware, software, validation/reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams. With these being lead roles they will also make decisions on tradeoffs in product design between hardware and firmware/software. A highly important piece to the role will be to capture requirements, write specifications, define test plans for system verification and validation. Below are other key items that will be focus areas of the role.
- Actively participate in the project planning process (e.g., estimates for project plan tasks, resources, completion time, capital requirements, risks, expenses, etc.)
- Lead and participate in software DFMEAs
- Balance sustaining and new product development projects
Requirements:
- 5-10 plus year of professional experience working in a Systems Engineering role
- 2+ most recent years in a lead or supervisor capacity
- Strong experience gathering, capturing, and developing requirements
- A proven track record of successfully working with customers
- Vendor and/or supplier management experience
- Outsourced engineering products, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical Systems, Systems, or Controls Engineering
Preferred:
- MATLAB/Simulink, or LabVIEW experience
- Controls System/Algorithm Design experience
- C or C++ programming experience
- DFMEAs experience
Compensation : $50/hour to $60/hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
