About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team. The CFO will serve as the chief financial manager, providing financial leadership for the organization and keeping accurate records of the financial system. This role involves overseeing all financial functions, including general accounting, internal control procedures, and purchasing, as well as developing and managing the budget system. The CFO will also be responsible for the annual comprehensive financial audit, maintaining banking and merchant services, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The successful candidate must possess a broad knowledge of finance and management accounting principles, investment methods, and local budget laws. Essential skills include the ability to present financial information effectively, think creatively, and work harmoniously in a team setting. The CFO will be expected to have a hands-on approach to working with finances, demonstrate the ability to succeed in a demanding environment, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' experience in government finance or a related field are required, with a preference for a Master's degree, CPA certificate, or similar professional certification. The role also demands experience in public accounting or fund accounting, as well as a background in the pre-K to grade 12 public school system.
