Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Dentistry and Director of our General Practice Residency (GPR) Program . About the GPR Program:
Our one-year GPR program welcomes five residents annually, offering a robust and diverse clinical experience. Unlike programs focused solely on emergencies, our residents provide comprehensive patient care at the Jane Booker Family Health Center, conveniently located near the hospital. Residents benefit from:
- Collaboration with a diverse team of dental specialists.
- Tailored training to address individual areas of interest and growth.
- Experience with operating room procedures under general anesthesia.
- Opportunities to schedule patients with specialists in all areas of dentistry.
Chair Responsibilities:
As Chair, you will lead the Department of Dentistry, overseeing all aspects of the residency program, faculty, and clinical operations. This includes:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Oversee resident recruitment, training, and evaluation. Provide mentorship and guidance to faculty and residents.
- Clinical Excellence: Provide direct patient care (minimum half-day per week) and ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based dental care.
- Program Administration: Manage the departmental budget, develop business plans, and lead quality improvement initiatives. Maintain CODA accreditation for the GPR program.
- Medical Staff Engagement: Actively participate in medical and dental staff activities, including credentialing, education, resource management, and quality improvement.
- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with the CMO, hospital President, referring providers, and other departments.
Qualifications:
- DDS/DMD degree and eligibility for New Jersey licensure.
- Completion of an accredited GPR program.
- Minimum two years of post-GPR experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CODA accreditation.
- Interest in special needs patients, implant restorative dentistry, clinical research, and operating room experience.
