Saint Joseph’s Health is seeking a dedicated Board certified/eligible Urologist to join our team and serve a culturally and clinically diverse patient population. Located ~10 miles from New York City, our facilities are in a vibrant region known for its highly rated K-12 school systems, numerous colleges and universities, and many family-friendly and cultural activities.
We are looking for a full-time Urologist to provide comprehensive care to adult patients. This role includes opportunities for research and teaching, with multiple practice locations including Paterson, Wayne, Saddle Brook and Totowa. Our practices operate five days a week, with a rotation to various locations and a call rotation of 1:3-4
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide triage and treatment for urology patients according to established standards of practice. Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, including thorough history-taking, physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments or referrals. Ensure the use of resources is appropriate and cost-effective.
- Hospital Care: Admit and consult on in-patients as necessary, providing care and coordination for hospitalized patients.
- Surgical Services: Perform surgeries and provide services in Urology Clinic. • Collaboration: Work closely with other physicians, mid-level providers (APNs and Pas), nurses, support staff, patients, and families to ensure high-quality patient care. Make appropriate specialty referrals while maintaining responsibility for ongoing patient care.
- Call Coverage: Participate in regular call coverage as part of the department's rotation.
- Quality and Education: Contribute to the quality improvement and assurance activities of the Urology division and Surgery Department. Engage in the medical education of residents as required by the residency program director and Chair of Surgery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records using our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Professional Development: Stay current with knowledge and skills required to meet hospital, state, organizational, and licensure requirements.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief of Urology and the Chair of the Department of Surgery.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Urology.
- Valid medical license to practice in New Jersey.
- Strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and research.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
