Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely



We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, ensuring their optimal performance. You will be expected to work independently and efficiently while maintaining safety standards and adhering to company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment, including CNG, gas, and electric-powered vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the operational efficiency of all equipment.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks such as generating reports, creating work orders, and ordering parts.
  • Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner and procure required parts for each job.
  • Review mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Provide and maintain personal tools required for the job.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times.
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements by reviewing technical manuals and attending relevant training seminars.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Heavy Duty Red Seal Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a diesel mechanic.
  • Experience with diagnostic software is an asset.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria as per company standards.
