Certification Details BLS IN State or compact RN license Job Details General Medical and surgical units – We see a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, end stage renal disease. We manage GI issues such as pancreatitis, bleeding, gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel diseases. We also manage infections such as pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, UTI, c-diff, etc. We may also care for patients with neurological issues such as stroke, dementia, traumatic brain injuries. We also have patients with mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, etc. Our patients will undergo procedures such as colonoscopies, thora and paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries (lap chole, incision and drainage, biopsies, amputation). General job duties include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, utilization of the EHR, IV pumps, wound vacs, heat/cooling pads, feeding pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, management of heparin and insulin drips, IV therapy management. Job Requirements Minimum one year Med Surg hospital experience required. Two years is preferred. BLS, IN State or compact RN license required. Schedule Information 12-hour shifts, 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks. Patient ratios are 1:5. Unit Specific Information Supplemental staff to go through Jump Start orientation, including 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation, Epic classes included. Additional Details Minimum 1 year MedSurg hospital experience required. 2 years is preferred. IN license (or compact as of 7/1/20) required. BLS through AHA required.
