Job Description: \n The Chief Maintenance Technician at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Minneapolis Downtown is responsible for ensuring proper operations, maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment.\n \n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n \n\nEnsure that the Preventative Maintenance program is implemented and administered according to MCR standards.\nEvaluate and spot check the work of all staff and contractors or outside laborers.\nHandle guestroom maintenance requests in a timely manner.\nMaintain files of and be familiar with all operational manuals and warranty agreements for equipment.\nImmediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and/or the General Manager with findings.\nManage energy expenses and continually work towards energy conservation.\nEnsure that pool and spa follow area health codes.\nMaintain a key control system and ensure it is adhered to.\nAlways comply with MCR standards and regulations to encourage safe\n\n and efficient hotel operations.\n\nTrain and supervise the Engineering staff and coordinate all scheduling.\nRespond to emergency situations using information contained in Material Safety Data sheets.\nKeep Material Safety Data sheets current and easily available (with Housekeeping Manager).\nCoordinate all inspections of the fire safety systems, including extinguishers, smoke alarms, etc., to maintain proper safety standards.\nApproach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.\nOther duties as assigned including occasionally being dispatched to other MCR Hotels in Minneapolis \n\n \n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n \n\nMust have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. \nVerbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations. \nReasoning abilities are always utilized.\nBasic maintenance skills required.\nProficient in use of hand tools, power tools, test equipment.\nValid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (property specific).\nMust be proficient in Windows operating systems, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing. \nMust be able to convey information and ideas clearly. \nMust have a desire to serve all guests. \nMust be 18 years of age or older to perform this job. \n\n \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n \n\nTechnical, Trade or Vocational school degree.\nLicensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).\n2 years of work-related experience\nCarry all equipment (e.g., keys, phones, pager, tools, radio) to maintain preparedness to always carry out work tasks. \nExperience in a hotel, apartment, or a related field\n\n Our Company\n\nMCR is the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States.\nFounded in 2006, our company has offices in New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Richmond, Virginia.\nMCR has a $5.0 billion portfolio of 148 premium-branded hotels containing more than 22,000 guestrooms across 37 states and 106 cities.\nMCR has more than 7,000 team members across the country and operates hotels under 9 Marriott brands, 8 Hilton brands and a number of unflagged independent hotels.\nMCR was named one of Fast Company’s 10 Most Innovative Travel Companies of 2020.\nMCR is a three-time recipient of the Marriott Partnership Circle Award, the highest honor Marriott presents to its owner and franchise partners, and a recipient of the Hilton Legacy Award for Top Performer.\nFor the TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport, MCR won the Development of the Year (Full Service) Award at The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), the Urban Land Institute New York Excellence in Hotel Development Award and the American Institute of Architects national Architecture Award, the highest honor given by the AIA\n\n What we offer/What’s in it for you? \n\nHotel Discounts \nWeekly Pay \nPaid Time Off \nRetirement Options \nReferral bonuses \nCareer advancement & upward mobility \nHealth, Dental, Vision Insurance- available after 30 days of employment for full-time team members \n
