Job Description

Job Title:  Food Server

Reports To:  Hospitality ManagerCompany and Position Summary: 

Redwood Empire Whiskey recently acquired Savage and Cooke Distillery located in Vallejo on Mare Island.  The distillery features an event and dining space in an ultra-hip atmosphere.  Redwood Empire Whiskey is thrilled to continue the event and restaurant operations and is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Food Servers to join our dynamic team. 

This part-time position is capable of assisting with setting up and closing down the restaurant, running food and beverage and interacting with the guests.  The event and restaurant team work Wednesday through Sunday.  The position offers a flexible work schedule, eligibility in our 401(k) plan (plus match), as well as various company perks that include product discounts and giveaways.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional guest experience at the distillery and restaurant, by way of knowledge, hospitality and generosity of spirit.
  • Learn and communicate the story of the distillery.
  • Proficient in all skills that relate to flawless restaurant and hospitality operations.
  • Participates in restaurant operations and collaborates with the hospitality manager.
  • Helps maintain high customer service standards.
  • Helps to communicate front of house supply needs.
  • Monitors and maintains restaurant equipment and POS.
  • Adheres to safety procedures for the assigned work area.
  • Participates in restaurant setup, shutdown, operating, troubleshooting issues, and making adjustments when necessary.
  • Maintains a clean and organized front of house.
  • Participates in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with, and ensures, general housekeeping and cleaning of workstations.
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime.
  • Helps to Identify problems before they occur and helps remedy them.
  • Has knowledge of Employee Handbook policies, especially regarding California meal and break policies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with hospitality manager on all FOH ideas and needs.
  • Support and assist Bartenders.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for hospitality and service, with prior restaurant experience preferred.
  • Team player with positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hospitality and restaurant service activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizational skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Versatile, flexible, and enthusiastic to work within constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to multitask and juggle priorities.
  • Maintain composure under pressure.

  • Current food handlers card a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Walk, kneel, bend and stand, primarily on concrete flooring.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
  • Part-time, Wednesday - Sunday
  • The restaurant is operated in our food truck, which is located on-site at the distillery.  Once a week, prep-work is performed off-site at a commercial kitchen in Vallejo.
