The Health & Safety Manager position will support Kodak’s Specialty Chemical, Ink and Dispersions, Solvent Recovery manufacturing division and report to the HSE Rochester Operations Manager. This is a fully onsite position in Rochester, New York.

Key Responsibilities:

• HSE Culture – Actively works with the divisions’ leadership team and effectively leads, coaches, and develops managers and group leaders across all functions to be effective HSE leaders/coaches in their respective positions.

• HSE Performance – Partners with divisions’ leadership team to develop HSE key priorities, drivers, and activities with key performance indicators to drive HSE performance improvement.

• Compliance – Assists division in complying with regulatory requirements and internal HSE policies and procedures.

• Risk Assessment and Elimination – Leads the effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes across the division to ensure these are effective at identifying and mitigating hazards and are effectively communicated and understood by all affected employees.

• Incident Investigation - Ensures root cause and corrective actions are identified to prevent the recurrence of HSE-related incidents.

• HSE Capability Building – Develops divisions’ HSE talent through active support, coaching and feedback with the goal of developing talent that can move on to more challenging positions.

• Liaison and technical expertise support – Provides technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function.

Desired Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or HSE-related field is strongly preferred.

• Minimum of 7-years' hands-on experience in HSE roles with the last position held as a Site HSE leader, and/or division, regional, or corporate health, safety and environmental specialist with experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Professional certifications in HSE-related fields are considered beneficial and may include CSP, CIH, etc.

• Proven experience and a solid understanding of HSE management systems.

• Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.

• Solid technical understanding of HSE hazards that may impact a chemical-based production / engineering environment and the ability to select and implement effective controls strategies.

• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.

• Exhibit the ability to build strong cross-functional teams capable of delivering desired results.

• Ability to communicate effectively and influence HSE performance across a diverse range of people from Corporate /Division leadership to a factory floor associate.

• Proven track record to drive sustainable organizational change.

• Capacity to think both strategically and tactically.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detailed and results-oriented.

• Ability to communicate sophisticated regulatory and technical issues in lay terms.

• Proficiency with Windows-based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to master other specialized software.
