Job Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and implementing production schedules using SAP R/3 to meet customer requirements, including JIT/JIS delivery functions. This role ensures effective communication with customers, monitors finished goods inventory levels, and coordinates cross-functional efforts to optimize production flow and inventory control.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer delivery communications.
  • Monitor customer EDI and advanced shipping notices to ensure accurate scheduling.
  • Create and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery expectations and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Coordinate engineering changes to support customer needs while minimizing obsolescence.
  • Monitor finished goods inventory levels for accuracy and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with inventory-related activities to optimize stock levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, cycle times, and inventory flow.
  • Keep management informed of issues affecting schedules, deliveries, and production capacity.
  • Establish communication channels with customers, shipping, manufacturing, materials, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Support capacity planning and participate in special assignments as directed by management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with an automotive supplier is preferred.
  • Experience in capacity planning and inventory control.
