Job Summary:

The Sales Director will spearhead regional sales efforts with a focus on upstream and midstream energy clients. In this role, you’ll drive customer acquisition, manage accounts, and ensure client satisfaction across the Rockies. As a key player in our growth strategy, you’ll help establish out client as the leading solution for methane emissions compliance in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Development: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at prospective and existing accounts in the energy sector. Understand their emissions detection, repair, and reporting needs, positioning us as the preferred solution.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement regional sales strategies to surpass quarterly and annual revenue targets in the Rockies.
  • Lead Generation & Account Management: Identify and engage new clients through networking, industry events, and proactive outreach. Maintain relationships with existing accounts to drive repeat business.
  • Proposals & Contracting: Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals and quotes tailored to customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Industry Representation: Represent the organization at trade shows, industry associations, and regulatory meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate demand for our solutions.
  • Curiosity-Driven Market Insight: Stay attuned to industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, fostering a deep understanding of the emissions detection landscape. Actively seek out new information to better serve clients and anticipate their needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product management, marketing, and support teams to ensure seamless customer experience. Relay customer feedback to drive product development.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, pipeline development, and market trends to optimize strategies and boost sales effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of successful sales experience in the oil & gas or environmental compliance sectors, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. Familiarity with methane detection or SaaS/technology sales is highly desirable.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of energy infrastructure, emissions regulations, industrial safety standards, and the challenges faced by energy operators in the Rockies. Knowledge of regulations like Subpart-W and OOOO is preferred.
  • Curiosity and Growth Mindset: A deep-seated curiosity and eagerness to learn about new technologies, industry trends, and client needs. You are proactive in expanding your knowledge and continuously seek to better understand the complexities of emissions detection and environmental compliance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to quickly learn industry-specific software.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Independent & Collaborative: Able to work independently and thrive as part of a collaborative team, contributing insights and strategies for continuous improvement.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel: Willing to travel up to 50% throughout the Rockies region for client meetings, industry events, and deployments.
  • Work Environment: Remote role, ideally based near Denver.
