**This is a full-time position**


MUST HAVE 2 YEARS (MIN.) OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF CIVIL AND/OR GEOTECHNCIAL ENGINEERING DESIGN.

We are specifically seeking a candidate with hands-on experience designing retaining walls (e.g., MSE walls, SRW, or reinforced slopes).


SUMMARY : Perform engineering duties in the planning, estimating and designing of earth retention structures and sound barrier wall systems including mechanically stabilized earth (MSE), segmental retaining wall (SRW), reinforced soil slope (RSS), soil nail/screw, cast-in-place, and post-and-panel cantilever walls. This position is responsible for coordinating resources and assessing project data for delivery of preliminary designs; material take-offs; final designs; and shop drawings in accordance with client requirements, project specifications, and regulatory standards.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o  Assists in project design and development activities based on customer requirements.

o  Develops design documentation, technical specifications and other project related documentation as needed.

o  Attends project meetings to discuss any issues and new design ideas.

o  Works with Manager in developing project plan and schedule.

o  Prepares design layouts and sketches according to company design standards.

o  Stays abreast with latest developments in design technologies and techniques.

o  Addresses design related queries and concerns in a timely manner.

o  Assists team members and performs peer review of designs and plans.

o  Works with design team in prioritizing, planning, and executing several projects efficiently.

o  Reviews and recommends improvements to existing designs.

o  Follows company policies and design standards.

o  Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

o  Indirectly supervises CAD Operator(s) and Design Technicians within the engineering department(s).


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

o  Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or two years or more of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

o  Certificates, licenses, and registrations: EIT

o  Computer skills required: AutoCAD, and the ability to effectively learn the various design software tools utilized (Vespa, ReSSA, MSEW, Slide, L-Pile, etc.)
