Job Description Job Title : Driver Job Summary : Under the supervision and/or direction of the Director, the Care-A-Van driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated locations, inspecting the coach for safe operating conditions, applying knowledge of commercial driving skills in operating the vehicle at varied speeds to include going forward, backing up, and maneuvering around corners and in compact areas. Education :
- High school graduate or the equivalent.
Work Experience :
- Previous CDL driving experience.
Skills Abilities :
- Possess a CDL Class B Driver's License in good standing with air brake endorsement. Effective organizational and communication skills. Good physical and mental health. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions and relate well with the public. Performs various screenings. Must possess reliable transportation and provide proof of auto insurance

- A. Operates the Care-A-Van in a safe, efficient manner adhering to all safety standards. B. Supports the Christian mission, vision and philosophy of St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. C. In accordance with safety guidelines, assists with health screenings and maintains confidentiality of screening results. E. Assists in keeping van clean and fully maintained. F. Performs all duties in compliance with St. Dominic's Policies and Procedures. G. Maintains all fluid levels and adheres to scheduled maintenance for the coach. H. Accomplishes other duties as assigned. I. Understands role in Care-A-Van's fire, safety and disaster plans. J. Maintains accurate driver's checklist log and records odometer mileage and generator hours.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
