Manufacturing Engineer Relocation May Be Offered Job Description Under the guidance of our Engineering team leaders, the Manufacturing Engineer develops, coordinates, and participates in the development and implementation of new processes and technology at various locations of the Company's Manufacturing network. The projects could be an existing process to import in a new location, a new process for our company, or a new process to the world. The first mandate is to finalize the implementation of an existing process to a new location and achieve production robustness in terms of quality, output, and cost followed by a rapid curve of improvements and automation that would give us a clear market advantage. Subsequent mandates will be to export the process to other manufacturing facilities and work on various projects in our new technology pipeline. The work will be within manufacturing operations facilities to lead/participate in projects within multidisciplinary teams bringing together engineering, marketing, supply chain & operations to achieve project goals. Main responsibilities: New products, processes, equipment, and materials: o Is responsible for the implementation of the technological plan, aimed at incorporating new technologies concerning robotics, automation, thermoforming, or any other equipment used in the composite and fiberglass sectors. o Develops and coordinates activities related to the installation of new equipment, machinery, and technology, taking into account feasibility and profitability. o Assigns mandates to subcontractors as needed and measures the conformity and quality of the work carried out. o In collaboration with other departments of the company, the engineer suggests, investigates and implements new materials, manufacturing processes, methods or equipment in order to optimize production and reduce non-quality costs. Continuous improvement projects: o Coordinate and participate in activities related to the preparation and implementation of continuous improvement projects. Evaluate the objectives, the difficulties, the activities to be carried out, the costs and the return on investment; monitors projects and measures results. o Target, analyze and evaluate the feasibility and profitability of improvement projects. o Participate in the problem-solving process related to operations. Process control: o Determines the important parameters to control in production and establishes practices and procedures in order to ensure process control. o Contributes to the sharing of best practices between factories. Health and safety, environment o Works with the health and safety manager to prevent and correct risky situations in the health and safety of workers. o Sets up activities to meet requirements related to insurance and environmental standards. Professional skills / Qualifications Minimum level of education and / or specialization: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or other similar discipline Continuous improvement certification (green belt, black belt) Minimum relevant experience required: Minimum of 5 years in a similar position Special skills and requirements Energetic Autonomous and structured Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time Good communicator Ability to lead a multidisciplinary work team Knowledge of robotics and automation an asset Knowledge of process control Bilingual in English-Spanish is a plus Take the next step in your career.
