Salary range: $120,000 to $170,000 per year DOE
YOU MUST BE LOCAL TO NYC/NJ/CT AS THERE WOULD BE AN ONSITE INTERVIEW AFTER A VIDEO INTERVIEW.
MUST SKILLS: JAVA, FIX protocol, Python & INVESTMENT BANKING TRADING EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience is required. This is not a position for someone who has over 8/9 years or more experience.
Trading Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Trading Systems Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Java and FIX protocol, with an eventual focus on transitioning to Python-based systems. The role requires strong communication skills to engage with external vendors, exchanges, trading platforms, and internal users within a dynamic trading floor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transition legacy Java-based processes to modern Python frameworks.
- Collaborate on evolving FIX protocol roles into Python-based solutions.
- Work with trading connectivity and trading systems, designing specs, and building scalable production systems.
- Manage connections to various trading platforms and ensure seamless integration.
- Engage with development teams to modernize frameworks and enhance system performance.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Java (server-side or full-stack) for initial process transitions.
- Expertise in FIX protocol for trading system connectivity.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python or willingness to develop Python expertise.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for vendor and stakeholder interaction.
- Hands-on technical ability with a flexible, adaptable mindset.
