Voice Field Technician – New York, NY
Job Summary:
IP Telephony (IPT) Voice Field Engineer with field experience to assist with Cisco IPT migration project. Provide staging, setup, testing and documentation services on customer site in New York, NY. Provide Day 2 support including End User support, Moves, Adds, Changes, and troubleshooting.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
- Maintain inventory for project hardware and maintain inventory documentation
- Mange Phone placement schedule
- IP Phone Firmware Upgrade
- Track Phone Inventory
- Stage and deliver hardware required for migrations
- Cisco IP Phone Placement
- Remove PBX phones from user desks
- Assist with post migration end user support – phone use and features
- Test Phone Connectivity
- Troubleshoot post migration user related issues
- Help Users with basic phone features
- Serve as a liaison between the customer and the company, communicating issues and conveying customer feedback to engineering and Team
- Following up with users to ensure issues and problem are resolved to their satisfaction
- Assist in station data review and verification
- Perform location IP technology refresh phone placement and network cable patching
- Collect surplus phones and mange surplus inventory
- Maintain location migration issues log
- Shift work as required
- Escalating problems when appropriate
- Support System Engineers and Project Managers as required
Technical:
- Hands on knowledge and experience in the implementation, design, and/or maintenance of IPT systems leveraging Cisco technologies.
- Knowledge of LAN connectivity and cabling
- Familiar with IP Telephones, use and features
