Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client, a leading provider in building automation, on their search for a Training Specialist based out of their Buffalo Grove IL facility. This is a HIGH TRAVEL ROLE – 60-80% (3-5 days/week) local travel; home on weekends.

** REQUIRED: They are specifically seeking candidates with at least 4 years of U.S. MILITARY experience ** and Classroom Technical Training experience
Compensation: $80,000-87,000
What You Will Do :
Responsible for delivering high quality solutions training (in both classroom and electronic environments) for Specialists, Field Technicians, Field Engineers and/or customers. Will function as an expert in providing technical support in the delivery of training programs to meet the skill competencies of the learners.
- Test product functionality in course training exercises for revised course materials to accommodate new software and hardware functionality.
- Maintain expertise on knowledge of service strategies, design engineering, installation, startup and troubleshooting techniques.
- Test usability, product functionality and become a company expert on new products.
- Setup and pack up equipment (up to 50 lbs.) for courses of instruction.
- Report, track and complete preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned products.
Education and Work Requirements:
- At least 4 years US Military experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in instructional techniques and course development utilizing a wide range of media and learning strategies
- Previous experience in the following roles (Systems or Service Specialist, Fire Specialist, Security Specialist, Engineer, Sales Engineer, Project Manager) or successful experience in a comparable training role
- Travel: 60-80% local travel (home on weekends)
- Associates degree in business administration, Engineering or related field preferred
