Overview
The Category & Insights Manager, where will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the North American business portfolio, including cartons, bag-in-box (BIB), and spouted pouches (SP). This position offers the opportunity to leverage market data and consumer behavior insights to drive sustainable growth in the USA and Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Lead quantitative and qualitative market analysis to support strategic planning by identifying key trends that impact the business. Analyze market data across retail and food service sectors for multiple packaging categories.
- Manage relationships with market data providers and research institutes, ensuring the client maximizes its data investments and uncovers valuable insights.
- Provide actionable insights to senior leadership, marketing managers, and sales teams to help identify growth opportunities, enhance sales pitches, and inform strategic business decisions.
- Scope and execute custom research studies, determining the right methodologies, managing budgets, and delivering reports with meaningful conclusions and business implications.
- Oversee key processes such as market sizing (SP&B), Net Promoter Score (NPS), and TCO assessments, collaborating with commercial and internal teams for optimal insights.
- Regularly contribute to business reviews, 5-year strategic plans, and executive presentations, providing data-driven insights to support leadership decision-making.
- Develop a competitive intelligence system to evaluate industry landscapes, identify gaps, and spot opportunities for market share growth.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, continually recommending new data sources or research packages to drive sustainable growth
You bring these skills, experience & education
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
- 6-10 years of experience in marketing, business development, or consulting with a focus on category/channel and segment analysis.
- Experience in the food, beverage, or packaging industry is a plus.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven, curious mindset that challenges assumptions with facts and trends.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional and regional teams, handling multiple projects with ease.
- Results-oriented, capable of translating data into actionable strategies.
- A strong communicator who engages and motivates teams, working closely with marketing, sales, and global counterparts.
