We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Assistant Supervising Attorneys with at least one and a half years of immigration experience to staff application centers for asylum seekers.
- This position will be on-site in Manhattan.
- The role of the Assistant Supervising Attorney is to answer questions and provide support and training to application assistants and asylum seekers as they fill out applications.
- The Assistant Supervising Attorney will foster and encourage a positive, productive environment and will bring a ‘can-do’ attitude to the wide variety of questions that arise.

- Monday to Friday 9:30-5:30
- Estimated project duration: 3-6 months
- 8 hours/day
Responsibilities:
- Train and support application assistants as they support asylum seekers in submitting asylum applications.
- Advise application assistants and asylum seekers regarding the requirements for submitting an asylum claim ; the Help Centers will support applicants as they complete asylum applications pro se and will not be offering full representation.
- Ensure application assistants comply with NYC program guidance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
- Admitted to practice in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- Clear of any attorney disciplinary charges sustained in the past 10 years in any jurisdiction in which they were licensed.
- At least 1.5 years of full-time experience practicing immigration law, including asylum and other humanitarian immigration benefits.
- Willingness to work in person and on site at the NYC Navigation Center for the duration of the project.
- Proficiency in Spanish is helpful.
