SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Master Scheduler supports the timely coordination of resources to meet the customer requirements and on-time delivery.
Ascent Aerospace is a world-renowned, single-source provider of production and automated assembly systems for the aerospace, defense, and space industries. As the largest tooling group, Ascent produces a full suite of both mold and assembly tooling required for the aerospace manufacturing market, including the largest invar molds ever made for aerospace. REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Minimum of a GED or High School Diploma.
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in a technical manufacturing environment or project-based scheduling.
- 3+ years of experience within PLM and ERP systems- SAP required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Collaborate with manufacturing functional leads to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources in most efficient manner.
- Maintain schedules and analyze capacity, revising as needed and alerting appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays and recommending resource/schedule plan changes.
- Manage and maintain ERP system – from project launch through final closure following approved procedures.
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment; utilize floor layout to plan upcoming project placement within plant or shop floor.
- Identify schedule risks associated with the build plan and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project managers to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of projects.
- Utilize scheduling software to optimize project flow through the facilities.
- Recommend continuous improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience utilizing continuous improvement methodologies and concepts.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM.
- Excellent organization, planning and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels within organization.
- Knowledge and experience in aerospace industry.
- Experience with conventional machines, jig, and fixture manufacturing.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to report to both Michigan Ascent facilities on a regular cadence. May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday and would primarily be local during the business day. However, some projects may require overnight stays as well as out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business.
