Responsibilities
- Research, develop, plan, and design commercial and industrial hydronics systems with a focus on fire protection.
- Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical and fire protection systems.
- Must have engineering expertise with the operation and design of pumps, valves, piping, codes, etc.
- Designs and develops pipeline systems that carry water or other fire suppression products; evaluates piping materials; sizes and select equipment used in industrial systems; devises materials purchasing plans; provides guidance with construction of fire suppression systems and equipment.
- Develops work scope for piping engineering team, supports development of estimates and schedules, prepares test and work packages and manages testing activities.
- Reviews and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and other design documents; and understands project design basis and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years working in a similar industrial fire protection system engineering role
- Must have a strong working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, MEP, Revit, etc.
