Job Description

A leading global trading and business development corporation is looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Team Lead to join its automotive parts OEM new business development team in the Novi, MI area. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and closing sales opportunities to drive revenue growth, while also leading and mentoring a dedicated sales team. We are seeking a professional with 5+ years of sales experience in the automotive OEM sector, with a strong preference for expertise in the Japanese Automotive Manufacturing industry . This is a full-time, exempt position offering a competitive salary and bonus, along with an excellent benefits package including car allowance and 401k.


Responsibilities - Sales Team Lead - Automotive OEM

  • Oversee all sales activities within the team to ensure performance goals are met.
  • Coordinate with sales representatives to generate prospective leads and schedule meetings with potential clients.
  • Track and manage all sales activities by effectively utilizing CRM systems.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies based on thorough market analysis to drive growth.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients while developing new business opportunities.
  • Achieve established sales objectives and targets.
  • Expand distribution channels to enhance market reach.
  • Prepare and submit budgetary quotes in alignment with company standards.
  • Review customer quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Plan, budget, and forecast sales trends and performance metrics.
  • Provide leadership and support for the learning and development of the regional sales team.
  • Report directly to the Sales Section Manager and collaborate to ensure team success.
  • Assist the Sales Section Manager in leading the sales team to achieve overall goals and targets.


Qualifications - Sales Team Lead - Automotive OEM

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the automotive OEM sector, with a strong preference for expertise in the Japanese Automotive Manufacturing industry .
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret sales data and develop strategies.
  • Experience in leading sales teams with demonstrated success.
  • Proven track record of generating and maintaining relationships with sales leads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using CRM systems .
  • Ability to travel 50%+ of the time.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
