This industry leader is looking for an experienced automation engineer to help build out their automation program for their largest manufacturing site. As they remain a pioneer in the space, they have been experiencing significant growth and are looking for a seasoned, self-driven, and creative SCADA / Control System Engineer to establish their controls and automation vision and strategy.
This position demands strong knowledge / experience in controls, specifically within SCADA systems and development. Throughout the automation process, this individual will need to be resourceful and strategic in understanding their biggest challenges and areas for improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain instrumentation, automation, and control systems using standard engineering techniques.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications, interfaces, and embedded controls.
- Participate in the setup and commissioning of new processes and upgrades.
- Assist the maintenance department in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and control issues.
- Recommend improvements for operational safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems and procedures.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to strategize system upgrades.
- Ensure the safety of control systems and equipment.
- Develop and help improve the site’s automation systems and procedures.
- Create and improve PLC and HMI applications.
- Direct the advancement of the site’s SCADA environment.
- Roll out corporate initiatives and direct relevant CAPEX projects from start to finish.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable experience.
- Market knowledge of relevant automation, controls, and engineering trends and improvements.
- Understanding of programming and ladder logic.
